I must apologize for this entry being so short and with no pictures. We want to surprise Mom & Pop’s when they get back here tomorrow.
Here it is Saturday morning at eight o’clock and Gina and I are just waking up. We worked all day yesterday inside the summer cabin. Around seven o’clock we were both hungry and decided to quit for the day. We then went inside to make homemade pizza. It tasted great and hit the spot. Not an exciting day but it was a long and productive day. Stay tuned to see photos.

Happy Birthday Ashley!!
Happy Birthday Ashley!!! Today is our Daughter-In-Law’s birthday. We are so proud of her and her service to our Great Country. We hope today is filled with Joy and that you are blessed throughout the coming year. We Love You.

Work continues on the Summer Cabin. Gina finished painting the walls and ceiling yesterday. I was able to complete the bathroom. Mom and Pop now have a complete and working bathroom.

We woke up early this morning to say goodbye to Mom & Pop’s as they took off for Lincoln, Nebraska to attend their grand-daughter’s wedding. We are cat-sitting Megabyte2 and making the cabin livable while they attend the wedding. Our prayer is that they have a safe journey and treasure this memorable time with their son, Pat, and grand-daughter, Shala. We send our congratulations to the bride and groom. May the Lord bless you both abundantly as you two begin your lives as husband and wife.

Making A Lot of Progress
Gina began Tuesday morning painting the corners in the bathroom. Pop’s and I unloaded the vanity and countertop.

I then began installing the wrap around glass doors on the shower with Mom’s help.

While Gina moved into the kitchen and living room to paint the ceiling Pop’s and I moved the vanity and countertop in place.

The bathroom is looking nice. We stopped at four o’clock for our social hour and dinner. After dinner Gina went back to painting. She was able to finish living room/kitchen ceiling, the laundry room and closet walls.

While she was painting I was able to complete the vent lines and the electrical wiring on the water heater. By this time it was a little after nine o’clock and Gina and I decided to call it a night.
Wednesday found me up at four o’clock. Mom and I were going to Rapid City this morning to buy a few more items. We pulled out at five o’clock and were at Wal-mart before six. She bought a bunch of Rubbermaid containers so they could store some of their items from the Teton until they find their new motorhome. We then headed over to Lowe’s to buy a closet organizer and faucet for the bathroom sink. We made it home at eleven and were pleasantly surprised to find that Gina had finished painting the walls in the kitchen and living room. It looks fantastic.

I got started on the closet organizer so Mom & Pop's would have somewhere to hang their clothes temporarily. We shouldn't be stirring up any dust so they should stay clean.

Around three o’clock Dave & Ute stopped by in their Smart car for a visit.

They also travel in a Volvo truck and are camping up at Sturgis for the motorcycle rally. We had a great visit and it was nice to meet them. They are heading back toward Delaware on Thursday.

After they left we all had tostadas for dinner and then called it an early night. I was asleep in our recliner by seven o'clock while Gina watched a movie. We had another wonderful day and more progress was made on Mom & Pop’s Summer Cabin.

The Summer Cabin Gets Some Color
Now that the Summer Cabin had been primed throughout it was time for the real paint. First up were the laundry room, bedroom closet and the ceiling in the bathroom. These were all getting painted with the same paint. No color just eggshell white. It wasn’t until noon that Gina started painting with color. The bathroom walls would be the first room to be painted. This room needs to be completed so I can get the bathroom working.

Sorry about the pictures but the floodlight she is using washes out the color. It may look a little yellow but it's really more tan. The Boss likes it so it will stay. Now that the bathroom is painted my Tuesday is laid out for me. I’ll be installing the toilet, vanity, sink, and the shower walls/door. It’s so exciting to see the Summer Cabin coming to life.

Painting Continues on the Summer Cabin
Gina and I would like to thank everyone for the comments we received Saturday congratulating Thomas and thanking him for his service to our country. The big news!! It’s official Mom and Pop’s sold their Teton fifth wheel trailer and truck. They are so excited.
Saturday Gina and I finished the exterior wall, trimmed off the excess plywood on the attic floor and wired the receptacles.

Gina got setup and began what she loves to do, paint. She says the hardest part is applying the primer on the ceiling because it soaks it up so fast. Gina did all of the rolling while I came behind her and cut in the corners with a brush.

After she finished off the first five-gallon bucket of primer it was already seven o’clock and she decided to call it quits for the night and came inside. While she cleaned herself up, I took care of cleaning the brush and roller she had used.
Sunday morning we were back up early. Mom and Gina cleaned up the Teton for one final look by a couple that came to look at it two weeks ago.

Once they arrived Gina went back to painting while I continued installing receptacles. However, we did stop at four o’clock to enjoy our social hour and to celebrate with Mom & Pop’s on the sell of their Teton & truck. I grilled a pork tenderloin along with bell peppers and onions for fajita’s. After dinner Gina was back painting. She finally quit at 8:30 once the whole cabin had one coat of primer throughout it. We finally made it inside and called it a night after everything was cleaned up. The summer cabin is really taking shape and looking good. We all had a wonderful day and Mom & Pop’s are overjoyed on selling their Teton fifth wheel & truck.
