The beginning here was an entry I started but just didn't have time to finish it or post it. However, I still wanted to post it.
Wow, I cannot believe how fast time is going by. Friday was a pretty easy day for us in Aransas Pass. We spent the day getting ready to travel and saying our goodbyes. We have developed so many friends while we have been at Ransom Road RV Park.

We pretty much just sat outside talking about our travels for November and December. We’re still very uncertain but weather will have a big influence on what direction we head. We believe we will head in a southwesterly direction toward southern Arizona then arriving back in Louisiana about a week before Christmas.
We woke up early Saturday morning and was on the road by 7:30 heading to our house in Louisiana. We arrived at 3:30 and were setup by five o’clock. It would have been sooner but our yard is wet so I had to park the RV farther away from our electrical connection and that put us about 10 feet farther away than I had extension cords for. (I have 60 feet which has always been sufficient) My dad had an extra one so he let us borrow it to prevent me from reconnecting and moving closer. I have full hook ups here when our yard is dry and it’s definitely not dry right now. Since I cannot drain my grey and black tanks I decided to fill up our water tank which hopefully will keep our water usage low and it will be a little test to see just how long our tanks will last without sewer hookups. We kind of just mellowed out for the evening since Nicole & Shane had a party at a friend’s house and Ashley & Parker were at a honey do shower. Gina put a roast on cooking in the crock pot since she promised our children she would cook lunch for Sunday after church. By this time it was time for bed and we both were tired.
I got up and turned the coffee pot on and waited for it to finish brewing. I fixed both Gina and I a cup and went outside in our garden to drink it and visit with Shane & Nicole who were already outside on one of the swings. Around noon Gina finished preparing lunch at about the same time Ashley & Parker arrived. We ate lunch inside the house followed by a homemade chocolate cake that Nicole just removed from the oven. It was very delicious. While we were sitting at the table We gave our children a little present from our trip out west. From there I’m not sure what we did for the rest of the day other than relax.
First thing on the agenda for Monday morning was go to the transmission shop and pick up our little Honda Del Sol. I had a clutch installed in May and it was defective so they changed it again. However, Gina & I have not been in Louisiana to pick it up. Shane dropped me off on his way to school. Back at home it was coffee time and our ducks just flew back from where ever they had been all weekend. We sat outside watching them for awhile.

Gina worked a little in her garden. We then went over to see Uncle Jim and Aunt Nell and to give them their presents we had bought for them while we were out west.
The last month has been a blur for me and Gina. We have been so busy so I’ll try to catch everyone up on our happenings. This is just the down and dirty version since I could write a lot more but we wanted to get everyone caught up with what we have been up to.
I took care of all the annual maintenance on the truck. We were giving an engagement party for our nephew in our garden on Saturday afternoon which included a fish fry. The party went great and we all had a great time. I got up Sunday morning early to get everything ready to travel. We stopped in Sardis, Mississippi at a COE park.

We are taking our Aunt and Uncle to Kentucky and Illinois so he can visit his sisters and see the old farm where he was raised.
We made it to Kentucky and we all had a great time with family.

Gina and I really enjoyed getting to know my dad’s two sisters and their husbands and look forward to returning in the near future. We left Kentucky heading for Illinois. It was a short 54 mile drive to a conservation area. The only bad part is there was intermittent cell service. The camphost is Jack and he and my uncle went to school together so while they were catching up on all the old times I got the camper set up.

Early the next morning we took Uncle Jim to the old farm where he was raised.

We returned back to Louisiana on Sunday August 9th. We could have been gone longer but we wanted to get back so we could spend some time with Ashley and Parker before they flew back to Grenada for medical school on Wednesday.
Monday Night we had our children over to celebrate Shane’s birthday and Gina made a big pan of Lasagna.
Happy Birthday Shane!!
Tuesday Gina took Ashley to get a pedicure and manicure since she will not be able to get another one until she returns for Christmas. Wednesday morning we took Ashley & Parker to New Orleans to eat some beignets for breakfast. After breakfast we took them to the airport for their flight.

After they departed we then headed back to our house so Gina could get started on a new flower bed in her garden.
Finally on Thursday we were able to slow down a little and relax. Gina was excited to get started in her Garden since she had picked up a lot of flowers and ROCKS while we were in Kentucky. I’m not sure what she was more excited about, the free flowers or the rocks she picked up. We got the bed created and she got her flowers planted by Friday.

We were invited over to my sister’s house for dinner tonight for fried catfish which was delicious. Saturday we went to the ornamental concrete store in Baton Rouge to see if they had a Marine seal. They had it and Gina placed it in her new flower bed.

Today was the first time that I was able to get online and it was only to pay some bills. Gina and I never knew retirement could be so busy. It’s not going to slow down anytime soon. We are preparing to leave on the 22nd making our way toward Parris Island, South Carolina to see Thomas graduate from boot camp and become a United States Marine.
Until tomorrow, Gina & I hope everyone has a pleasant and wonderful day, enjoying what our Father has so graciously blessed us with.
