We Have Been Busy

Well, let’s see. Gina and I have been busy since she arrived. Friday night as I mentioned before we babysat Jolee. Ashley and Parker went out to celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary. Congratulations to both of them!!! The only picture I have of them is when they left Sunday.

Happy Anniversary!!!

Saturday we went to a pool party with Parker’s two sisters and his parents at a close friend’s house who lives here in Katy, Texas. Then that night they had a fajita party. There was way too much food. However, we all had a great time.

I sure have enjoyed Jolee

Saturday night Thomas called me and told me that he, Ashley and Abigail went to the USS Midway Museum in San Diego, California. Here are a few pictures of their day along with Abigail in her walker. She is sure growing fast. We’ll be seeing her in seven days.

Sunday morning found Gina and I sleeping in. I cooked lunch for Ashley and Parker before we brought them to the airport in another thunderstorm. Of course the rain hasn’t let up much around here. After we made it back home it was time to relax. For dinner we had grilled steaks and baked potatoes. A very busy weekend but I sure have enjoyed having Gina home.

Monday was back to work for me and Gina took Angel and Zoey to get groomed. She said they needed a haircut really bad. Tuesdays are special days now. It’s the day Nicole begins another week of her pregnancy with twins. The best part is she sends me a picture so I can see how big the twins are. Really how big she’s getting.

I spent time looking for an RV park near Rockport, Texas for Mike and Janna to come to in January since the park that Gina and I will be at is full. I believe between the two of us today we have found a park.

As you all know I bought Gina a car a little over two weeks ago.  However she was only home for the weekend and never had time to drive it.  In fact today was the first day she drove it and she loves it.

She's ready to drive it, Finally!!

Gina & I hope everyone has a pleasant and wonderful day, enjoying what our Father has so graciously blessed us with.

Gina Arrives In Houston

Thursday Gina, Ashley, Parker and Jolee flew into Houston. I made it to the airport to pick them up which normally wouldn’t have been no big deal. However, Houston has been getting a lot of rain. Thursday was no exception. The interstate was not moving so I decided to take a few back streets. Big mistake as the roads were flooded. Had to turn around and sit in traffic. I arrived at the airport just as they were walking out with their suitcases.

Jolee is becoming the frequent flyer. She received her second set of wings. Gina said, she does very well in the plane. She must since all the pictures I see of her on the plane show her smiling.

It was lunchtime so we all went to a really good pizza place and had pizza. After we ate they dropped me off at work since I had an afternoon meeting. Parker and Ashley then went to their hotel and Gina did what all women do to relax, go get a pedicure and manicure. I called Gina after my meeting and she was just finishing at the nail so I told her to come by and pick me up when she was done. We had to make a stop at the grocery store and then it was home. Okay maybe our second home. I call it home since it’s where we spend most of our time. We were both still full from lunch so we just enjoyed happy hour by ourselves. Inside of course since it was still raining. I know out west they are in a drought. However, that is not the case here in Houston. After the drought they had last year they need the water.

Friday morning I went to work for a few hours and then picked Gina up for lunch. I took her to Babin’s, which happens to be her favorite restaurant in Houston. The food was great like always and we probably overate just a little. We then came home and waited for Jolee to arrive. We were babysitting her tonight. Of course, she arrived just when another thunderstorm was rolling through. I opened the awning for her when she arrived but even with that she got wet. Alright she didn’t get that wet. However, Ashley got wet. They left to go out to eat after the storm passed and I got to hold and rock Jolee. I also got to play with her a little too. She sure is growing fast.

Shane and Nicole took a short vacation last weekend to Las Vegas and here is a picture she sent to me.

Gina Enjoys July 4th With Jolee

Gina flew back to New Jersey on July 2nd with Ashley, Parker and Jolee. It was an enjoyable and very busy weekend in Louisiana for Gina. I believe Gina started preparing Jolee for celebrating our Independence Day on Tuesday since I received this picture of them.

Since July 4th was a holiday I had the day off. My morning was spent inside relaxing since the day started off at 80 degrees and it only got hotter. I invited the guys that I work with over for grilled steaks and baked potatoes at five o’clock. Most of the guys I work with live somewhere else other than Houston just as I do. The steaks were great and we all had a good time. Gina on the other hand was enjoying grilled hamburgers and sausage. For dessert she enjoyed a big watermelon. What would Independence Day be without grilling and watermelon? I do not really know since we have always done that. Of course Gina took a few pictures of Jolee in her official Red, White and Blue outfit, complete with a fancy headpiece.

I think she is saying what is this thing on my head?

Gina said they had a wonderful holiday and so did I. Of course it was back to work for me Thursday morning and I worked over the weekend too. Yesterday I made my reservation at Ransom Road RV Park in Aransas Pass, Texas beginning October 1st. I’ll be starting a new phase of the current project that I’m working on. Gina has done cross-stitching for a long time. She has been working on Jolee’s name and she finally finished yesterday. I’m so proud of her because she created the pattern for the first E since she didn’t want both E’s to look the same.

I think it looks beautiful

The big news is that Gina is flying into Houston on Thursday. She’ll be here for two weeks and then we are both flying out to California to celebrate Abigail’s first birthday on July 27th. It’s hard to believe it has already been a year.

Nicole is 14 weeks pregnant today.  Those babies are growing for sure since she tells me she is hungry 24 hours a day. Well, I guess both babies alternate telling their mother when to eat.

That’s about all that happened this past week. It has been cooler here in Houston since we have been receiving some rain showers. It has been HOT in New Jersey. Gina said it has been in the upper 90’s for the past week. It’s been hotter up there then down here. That for sure is not normal. Of course Houston will be back in the upper 90’s while she is here. One thing I do know is that Southern California will be in the 60’s and 70’s.

I just had to include one more picture of Jolee
