A Rainbow & Visitors Stop By

Starting off another beautiful week up here in the Black Hills. Rocky and I got started on Mom & Pop’s apartment around eight o’clock. We hadn’t been working long and Gina served us a breakfast of homemade biscuits, sausage and scrambled eggs. It hit the spot perfect.

I sure have a Great Wife, Breakfast was Great!!!

We soon were back at work blocking all of the ceiling joist. After which we discussed our path forward in regards to electrical and plumbing.

It sure is nice to have Rocky's guidance and help


Even Pop's got in on the work

At a little before four o’clock we had some visitors pull up on a bright red motorcycle. It was Niles and Debbie. They were out riding their motorcycle and saw us so they decided to stop for a visit.

They follow both Mike & Pat’s blog and ours. Since they are here in Custer for three weeks they wanted to meet us. It’s really neat when your paths finally cross. You already feel like you know one another. Our friends, Mike & Gerri wrote a nice entry about blogs and I encourage you to read it. Just click this link: What is this blogging thing They were only here for a few minutes when the clouds on the horizon were getting very grey and dark. Sheri grabbed her laptop and looked up the weather and found out that we were under a severe thunderstorm warning. Niles and Debbie decided that they better head for home. We said goodbye to this fine couple and plan on getting together with them again.

It wasn’t long before it started raining and we all moved inside the pole barn. Around five o’clock we all sat down inside Mom and Pop’s new living room and had dinner together. Gina had cooked a pot of Crowder peas and cornbread muffins. I grilled a turkey breast to go with them. Mom heated up the leftover green beans and Sheri brought some raw vegetables. We all enjoyed an excellent dinner in Mike and Pat’s new apartment, even though there were no walls. The rain had stopped while we were eating and when we all walked outside we were treated to a beautiful rainbow. What a way to end our day.
